It hasn't rained much in the last month, so I was glad to see it rain, however, it kept me from hunting very much this weekend.

Smittyman and I got a couple of hours in on Saturday. P@tch and I were completely rained out on Sunday.

Here is what I was able to locate:

- My first pewter button. ID'd by Crusader as circa 1780s.
- 1893 IHC (#7 for the year... I only got 8 in all of 2015)
- Junk ring
- Adjustment knob from oil lamp. It says "REISSUED JUN. 30 1868". I can't read what it says on the outer part of the ring. Anything that says 1800s on it is good for me.

We are going to NJ to hunt in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I can find something good to post on that adventure.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

Great finds!!

Had another look, still not happy with that green colour, even if it broke a bit like a pewter button. Also, it looks to be a drilled shank & not cast, which makes it a similar date or earlier. It is a bit of a puzzler.

nice finds Tom. Glad to see y'all got a hunt in this weekend. Good luck on your NJ trip too!

Thanks for the input. I only know what I have seen on TNet... I looked really closely, but did not see a casting line anywhere. I also though that the shank might have been drilled, but it is corroded so badly, I couldn't tell. I appreciate your input!

You must have the Wheatie Program turned down too low ! May explain all the IHC's :laughing7: Nice stuff and missed you at the meeting.

Nice old finds Tom. Don't try pumping your own gas in Jersey lol.

Nice early button for your area bud. Hope you knock down a coin of similar age real soon

Love the green Indian Cent! :occasion14:

Nice hunt Tom, I like the pic of the IH on the flower.

Congrats on some nice finds.

Dang Tom I was expecting a big silver from you this weekend. Congrats digging those keepers. :occasion14: Looking forward to hunting with you some day soon.

Thanks Brad. Oh yeah brother, Garden State Raid! Smittyman, Kurt Stuben and I are going to pull a "Reverse Sherman" on Yankeeland.

We are bringing a bunch of pork BBQ, hush puppies and sweet tea!
