I have 4 ways to check and see how big the target is. Two of the devices go

electronic so will not talk about it. All of them have dials that you turn up
until they make the rods open, I have marks on them for 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 5, 10, 15

Would you mind going in to greater detail about how the non-electronic devices work and how to build one? I'm intrigued

I don't know who came up with this "attempt". Back in the early 1990's Bill Morgan used a 50k or 100k potentiometer. But there were others before that. The idea is the small current in the air between your hands is shorted out. Dell Winders came up with adding the magnet and some other stuff. Other imitations have not even figured out how it is supposed to work. The effect is so small it's difficult to know if there is any effect at all. At full shorting i can still pick up a gold ring. A lot more effect by just tilting the L-rods down some. And here lies another problem: how much tilt? Not easy to judge how far you have the rods tilted.

The white one is Dells. The other is a house hold dimmer switch. Put a small magnet ( I used the corner from a magnetic business care) on the wire. If it does not work just turn the magnet over. If you want to it can be put in a little box..........Art

Just for you Mike..Giel Dutoit of South Africa sent me info on a discovery he had made. If you place a 250k ohm potentiometer between the dowsers hands as he is dowsing. You will see a decrease in his dowsing ability as this resistance is decreased to a zero ohms. In testing this I have also found it to be valid. Giel can be contacted at gieldutoit@hotmail.com

The significance of these finding are overwhelming . The applications in which dowsing has been used is HUGE. When all of these applications have been explored scientifically Mankind will take another leap forward.

The placebo effect is alive and well. That's the mantra of dowsers, "If you think it works, use it." I admit I have never measured how much current is running through the air between your hands. If you apply Ohm's law, 2 Ohms and the current is doubled compared to a full short. And I thought my Contraption was a Wile E. Coyote idea. So I sure gotta wonder who this is aimed at. Somebody with zero electronics knowledge.

So maybe you'd have a chance if you use a rotary dial with some fixed-value resistors like 10 Ohms and less. But my results with a properly built one I still can detect a gold ring at full short. So any resistance is going to have even less weight filtering.

That thing is all hooked up wrong.

Probably get better results just count to yourself how much it weighs. And of course to do this is not physical dowsing so the accuracy and reliability is just not there.

OKAY Signal, so what would be the results if you lay a 3 pound steel ball 10 feet away from the target and wait 30 minutes to see the results?

Well Mike ...I used a cheap Rodio Skack Volt Mitered to determine whixh hand was positive and which is negative To find out how many VOLTs are running between you hands you need diffenert type of Voltage. I went to the locale college and had my voltage read. I have 0.030 running between my hands. Unlike you I shave done my homework. I use any and all method's to find gold.

Ouija Board and map dowsing , one and the same. Just tape a map onto the Ouija Board and you have map dowsing.

I like to use my way. Get the map on my computer. Put it in a program like Paint. Now I can Draw, use my cursor and my pendulum to eliminate areas

Works great if you like wild goose chases and snipe hunts!

Yes I do like to hunt wild geese and have hunted snipe. Yes there are a lot different snipes.
