Weird Lead Object

I found this item in a field in Luxembourg (western Europe.)
I have found items in the area dating back to the 1600s as well as everything in between.
It is made out of lead.
Any help on what its purpose was or what the emblem at the top is would be much appreciated.

Knife pommel? Looks like it was wrapped around some wood.

Cool artifact.:hello2: To me the emblem looks like a wreath with a rope securing (olive?) branches hanging off either side. Please post a picture of the reverse side.
