Is it stone or metal? If stone, I think it is a really cool natural.

That is a cool rock almost like it was encrusted within another softer rock and that has broken off except the ends,Rock with a skin on it like a hard boiled egg.

It's stone I always make sure to take the odd stuff home when digging

It almost looks like a petrified thumb in rock.
