Hello , look forward to viewing youre finds, I am new to the hobby also and hunt with a garret ace 250 I love hunting after a solid rain and fresh batteries the ace 250 really sounds off nice after a rain. One word of advice if you dont have the rain / dust cover for youre 250 carry a zip lock sandwich bag with you to put over youre dectors electronics . I got caught in a nasty storm once thought i ruined my dector had to take it apart an got lucky and fixed it. I always carry a sandwich bag or two with me . Good luck and Happy Hunting
