Went out yesterday and did a little detecting on campus before the next snow hit. I spent 4 hours with my CZ 21 and had a decent hunt. I got a high tone ring that I was sure was gold. 10k will often give a high tone coin signal. When I looked inside I could see the 10k and something else I thought was a makers mark. Unfortunately when I got it cleaned up it was a GF mark, it is only gold fill. A little gold but not good enough to be on my gold list for the year.
I started out the hunt with an eyeball find before I even turned on my detector. A dollar bill on the ground on my way to the spot I wanted to detect.
All together 74 coins and one bill with a total value of $5.41, the ring and a round ball from the old farm that the college is built on. Of course the usual tabs, foil, aluminum bottle caps, can slaw etc. were also removed from the ground.
Another good hunt with gas money and a few interesting things to keep things fun. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
