I looked for quite some time not sure about the "smoke" I got closer,it sure wasn't smoke, some kind of hatch millions, maybe billions of bugs.

GOD Bless

Chris, any chance that "smoke" could have been swamp gases? Everyone keeps talking about how hot it has been this summer. Growing up in Texas, swamp gas was a common thing. Often times it would glow at night as if on fire. And, sometimes, something would set it off and it would flash into a bright ball for a moment, then it was gone. Usually though, the gases weren't concentrated enough to burn.

Did the kids catch any fish?

Did the kids catch any fish?

There are small mouth and bluegill everywhere along that rock pile, smaller ones of course, they were jigging for them but should have used a bug or 2...no luck but we sure enjoyed being there..Carmines Son calls it His Shangri-la.

I've seen a similar "mist" while driving past some local farm fields (no crops) that ended up being bugs. Took both of us nearly 5 minutes to figure that out. So I'm not saying it "isn't" bugs - only that ""I"" can't see them. :tongue3: We were probably 70-80 yards away when we saw the mysterious "mist".

Looks like a great day spent well!
