How big is it .. the size of a dime or the size of a quarter? What does it weigh?

Is it soft, like lead?
Does it have threads, like a lid?

Looks like a spark proof lid for black powder.

Might be from a set of weights; each weight with a different letter.

That is what I was thinking, too, Don: a scale weight. However, I don't recall seeing lettered scale weights before.:icon_scratch:

If it’s a weight, it would weigh some round amount, wouldn’t it?

It looks like some sort of scale weight to me.

Could be the cup which can be placed between the end of a furniture (like a bed) leg and the floor, to save the floor from denting. I've seen similar ones in glass and metal.

@Sweetrazz
What are the dimensions?

What is the weight?

From here it looks like it's made from brass.
Maybe a shuffleboard puck...

Is it simply the letter B key from a typewriter?

Types of buttons perhaps ? Some times buttons were more than one piece. They was taken apart for the lead

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Looks like a Pan weight to me. The incised 'B' looks to be added after, for some reason. It's an unofficial Weight as it has no Verification Marks.

Yes, I would also say it probably a Weight.
