1897Indian Head,1901 Indian Head, and a 1907 Indian Head and a 1858 Flying Eagle and a 1920 Mercury Dime.... They were in Pretty good Condition when i found them a little green at first but cleaned up Really nice Found them on a Sandy bank of a Small Creek Right of the Brandywine River, It Always Floods in that area and there was a Big Boulder Next to them, Except the Flying Eagle was next to a Big old LOG I think they got washed Down and got stuck cause of the Boulder, and the LOG....The Mercury dime was in the Field next to the creek about 20 Feet away and about 4 Inches down. Going back out in the morning With a Friend will be hunting all day and Hopefully we find alot of Good stuff.....Ill Post what we FIND tomorrow after the HUNT..... Thanks for Loooooooking

Sweet digs!!! WTG!!!

I was on I-295/95 on my way to Newark for an appointment yesterday and I was thinking that there must be some good sites in the area. You answered my question for sure!

Good luck on this morning's hunt!
Neil

Simply incredible!!....congrats!! :icon_thumleft: ..............No green, no pitting, no hairline scratches on the dime.........wonderful.

Could we get a pic of the air-tight holders that these were found in?

Wow.

HH all!

Hi Tony

Congratulations of your coin finds. It would be a real good day if I ever found even one of those coins.

I would be a bit careful on how much info you give out on your locations of your finds. There are a great many persons lurking on these forums just waiting for someone to give them something they can use. In the past few weeks we've had a few people post too much info, and later find that someone has basically pin pointed their prime location and raided their secret site.

We love to see your finds, but I wouldn't want to see your site raided by someone in your vicinity that you don't know. Believe me it happens, alot.

Beware, take care, and once again congrats on a great hunt!

Ralph

awesome flying eagle!!! I agree about not giving up too much info. someone who hunts your area was checking out my posts and figured out where my private property was that I was hunting and even told somone he was hunting it!!! I'm much more careful now.

Great looking Coins! sometimes we get lucky & pull fine condition coins such as yours,
That eagle is especially a prize!
The airtite holder that held this merc I dug last week must have been composed of the new starch based plastic that biodegrades as no sign of it remained. :laughing7:
Congrats on your finds, Hope to see more soon!
