Only had a little time yesterday so I thought I'd hit something local. Went over to a local church/school yard. This place has been pounded by me and others totaling about 140 years of metal detecting experience. Everyone's using CTX3030's, Etrac's, V3i's. I figured I'd go over and dig out those iffy junk signals. Well I did find plenty of junk, but I also came up with some goodies. Ended up with 5 nickels, one a silver war nickel. Found a 1944 British sixpence pendant that I had thrown in the pouch as I thought it was junk jewelry. It had dirt gunked to it and I didn't realize what it was until I got it home and cleaned it up. I also found the frame for a small cameo pin in 14k. Rubbed it when it came out of the ground and it was easy to see it wasn't gold plated. Was marked 14k, but I also tested it and sure enough, Gold! Found a couple of buttons too. Normally these finds wouldn't be very exciting to me with the exception of the gold, but they were very rewarding to find as I know how much this place has been worked. Goes to show it pays to dig a little junk now and then.

Update: I went back to see what I might have missed and still found more "junk". I ended up with 6 wheaties, 5 nickels, a silver bracelet and some clad. ALL the wheaties were in a hole with iron. The silver bracelet was in a hole with 2 nails and a wheatie.
