What $6.88 bought this morning

I hit the local GW-TS this morn and found a few good deals.

A Lladro 5" goose $0.84, Not a biggie, but maybe worth 8 to 10 bucks on ebay. Good one to post on Digg's "got for a dollars or less thread" Now I gotta get around to selling it. I'm getting a bit top heavy with these little tchotchke things. But who could just leave that there when it was only 84 cents "ikh veys nisht"

A sterling coaster set $2.12. This will get dismantled for silver scrap and I'll post the clean weight value later.

The Waldman 85' Atlas of North American Indian book $3.39 I bought only for my personal library, as I don't have it. It sells on ebay for not much more then I paid.

tax $0.53 = $6.88

Them coaster sets go for a good amount over scrap I wouldn't rip that thing apart unless it's all dented up

I'm jealous. The big TS around here is Salvation Army, while GW, when you find it, is dirty and filled with broken junk. While the SA's are fabulous at finding treasure (mainly camera equipment and Tupperware, with occasional Taxco jewelry), they aren't open on Sundays! I don't have time during the week to hit the thrifts, so I have to squeeze them in Saturdays, around soccer and other family activities. Nice haul.

That I see now. I didn't see when they were all taped up they are signed: Frank M Whiting & Co... With that they'll be spared. The set has only five coasters and I think there should be 8 or at least 6

I would agree with everyone and keep the coasters intact. Those are pretty sharp! Great score.
