Lew Wentz was a partner of E.W. Marland in starting up what is now Conoco here in Ponca City back in 1929. He loved kids and wanted to do something for them and the community. Thus he built a swimming pool and camp.

Thanks this is out around the back side of the lake, I use to camp in those cabins they hold 9 to 12 campers rented in 4-H. bunks stacked 3 high. The tower has ? I cant remember how many steps spiral case inside and one heck of a view! It has an olpmic size pool with a really cool fountain in the shallow end.
This man did a lot for the town, it is aid he would walk down Grand Ave. (main street) and see a child wit no shoes and just take them into the shoe store and buy them shoes.
Back then no cost for pool but now you pay !
