I don't normally open links, but I tried to open this one. Wouldn't let me read the article unless I subscribed.

I get all my medication at the same CVS pharmacy. One of their online features is the ability to run your prescriptions together and flag any problems that arise. I ran it and two drugs were flagged as possible problems and was instructed to contact my Doctor immediately! I contacted my doctor and he explained why it was flagged, etc. Anyway - if you are interested - you might check with your pharmacy and see if they offer a drug interaction process.

Two different times for each of us, doctors have prescribed meds that is noted in the VERY FRONT of our file that we're allergic to. We caught it each time, but that's a scary thing!! Sad thing is, one of the docs was our regular family doc! :BangHead:

below is the gist of the problem perceived by Durbin

still, you the patient are responsible for telling each
doc (if you see several dif docs) IE: heart, orthopedic
ect. what meds you take so each doc can make an informed
decision, x drug can cause probs when mixed with c drug
ive never been to a doc that dosent give you a form to
fill out and a section to list what meds your taking
or asks you if your med list has changed

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin is calling for new nationwide policies
to protect consumers from dangerous drug combinations.
the Tribune reported that testing by the newspaper found that
52 percent of 255 pharmacies, including national chain drugstores,
dispensed drug pairs without warning of known and potentially
harmful interactions.

In this world you have to defend yourself, even from the people who are trying to help you.
