I found these in different areas in Charleston, SC. They were founf with a detector. Sorry there is no scale...they are about 4mm in diameter.

Silver searcher nailed it. Since the primers are out someone may have been doing some reloading of their own shotgun shells. Old shotgun shells are copper and will last a very long time. My guess once again is someone was doing their own reloading. They have a special tool for punching out the primers. I had a friend who done this years ago

It looks like the shell just corroded away. The primer is all that left.
It appears to be some brass or copper remaining. I agree SS nailed it remnants of shotgun shells.

We dig hundreds of these bloody things here :laughing9: sometimes they can be hard to sift out of the mud, and being round they give quite a good signal, because of the copper or brass centre :icon_thumleft:
