What Beaches do you hunt?

Any beach I find but I am mainly on the gulf coast. I don't get to the East side a whole lot but occasionally I manage to hunt over there.

It seems it would be much easier to hunt on the gulf side being that there is litle surf. whenever i go to local beaches hunting in the surf its extremely hard to get my targets.

All beaches in St. Johns county. As far north as Mickler's landing and south of Marineland. I'll hit Flagler and Ormond about once a month.

Speaking of which, I was just off "A" Street south of the St. Johns County Pier and I uncovered a large iron spike. It looks like an old railroad spike. It was about a 12" down at the high tide line. Interesting heavy metal ... and what is it doing there?

Also, I'm always wary about digging large iron targets in St. Johns. Recently, there was a depth charge that was exposed in the surf zone up at Ponte Vedra from WW2.

For a nano second, I was thinking the Gulf Coast is the east side.

I live an hour from the Pacific, in Washington state.

You just might live an hour from the east side of what your referring to.
