silver-clad
i have some more, maybe 5 ozs. you think its worth saving?

Hey White, it may very well be aluminium. Check it out and see. I have found a lot of that wiring in the past. Save it and sell it. It is all worth money.
Pepperpump ;D

i think it may be AL also. but i am unable to tell if it is Al or a silver clad like SWR stated.
i am going to save it. ;) but just dont want to sell it for something its not

Trust me, I have seen alu. wire alot and that looks like it. Is it light or better yet, take a knife to it and scrap it. If it is alum., it will most likely scrap off. Let me know what you find.

i would say its alum. i find it all the time in vac., tv's, computer's, and so on. i'm taking some in tomorrow ill let u know what they give me for it tomorrow nite.

Looks like tin plated copper to me. This is common. Solid Al is also possible. Doesn't look white enough to be silver. Silver is the whitest metal there is. I doubt if it is aluminum coated, since I can't think of any way that that is possible.
