Here is my latest find and my official first, "What the Heck Could It Be" Find. Someone suggested it could be a milling ball. Its heavy and could be made of lead. As you can see, it has a few miles under its belt. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. Happy Hunting.

Whats a Mill Ball exactly? If its not worth money, hit it with a hammer! I want to see the inside :)

I have one of those- I was told it was a canister ball.

It looks like a piece of canister to me also. I have found what I thought was canister shot before and it turned out to be the clapper from a cow bell...d2

Looks like scrap iron to me.

Looks like canister to me....:hello:

I think Milk got it....:laughing7:

Canister shot or small cannonball, make sure you preserve it before it falls apart (electrolysis)

You are all wrong. It is a petrified Godzilla booger.

Clean it up!......And then look at it again..............could be canister..................HH

whatever it is, it ain't lead

You folks need to consider that it was dug in gold country and I will just about promise you is a mill ball....I can take you to hundreds of them....not much use of canister shot round these parts.
Mill balls are used in a big metal drum which is turned with balls and rock ore inside the balls pulverize the ore.Very ,very common

I agree with Kuger.....mill ball. I have found them myself.
