What do these Markings Mean? SOLVED

Ive had this Gold colored Ruby ring for a while and assumed it was gold plated junk. I was looking at the markings and was surprised to see "925" stamped inside and also what appears to be "THAI" and a crown on the other side. What do these markings mean? Isnt 925 a silver marking?

Gold-plated silver (vermeil) is sometimes marked .925 to signify that the underlying silver is sterling. A vermeil heart marked ".925 THAI" can be seen at:

Thanks. I didnt know Sterling was gold plated. Are the rubies worth anything? I assume they are real.
