What has been the biggest improvment in detectors in the last 10 years ?

With all that has been happening with micro processors in the last ten years I would expect big gains in detectors. What are some of the major advances?.......G

Some of the higher end machines allow the user to set parameters themselves like tones, filters, discrimination etc. The Whites V3i is extremely customizable and the Minelab CTX3030 can be programed either on the detector itself or by using a windows based computer and the Exchange2 software program; along with gps and mapping features. Just a couple that come to mind.
