This old ring was very deep, around 14-16 inches under a fallen tree near an old Fort. As you can see, it measures 8 inches around.

Is it totally round or is it somewhat flat on the inside? If so, it could be a nail keg band. Breezie

Interesting Placement! I always hope digs like that will be a burried treasure! If it is a wagon rim or tire, these photos may help.
