It looks like a meteorite.... How would I know... There is a meteorite sampling place in my state. What do you think? Thanks.

No, it does NOT look like a meteorite. It looks like common "slag," or possibly Basalt rock. Sorry.

What are the specific characteristics of this item that make you believe it is a meteorite? Where did you get that information? I would like to know so I can avoid sending people there for information.

Not meteorite. Doesn't look like basalt to me either. Slag is a possibility.

The holes in the stone are not meteoric in nature,
