My best guess,
Electric fence insulators (as in a livestock farm), possibly from a gate area.

would u know if it is worth anything it was found at an old 1877 historical house....around what year were these used....thanks

Check with a local Farm Bureau, of Feed supply store, maybe they could help. It just looks similiar to stuff used on the farm where I grew up. No, I wasn't born in 1877
