Thanks

Just another name for the same animal. Sometimes companies put different decals on detectors so they can charge more or say it is different. Well it is different........ :icon_scratch:

So, if it says "DFX 300" does that mean it is an "E Series" (whatever that is); or does it have to be a "Spectra" to
be an "E Series". I am looking at a used DFX 300 and I need to make sure I get the lightest weight box. thanks

DFX 300 Has a bigger coil and is powder coated flat black and is going to weigh a little more becasue the 12 inch coil.

My DFX300 says Spectrum E Series on top of the view screen.

I guess they're the same. I know the boxes are the same. the dfx 300 does weigh more because of the coil.
it also make the balance different too

Just as Sandman say's all the same .... diffrent coil .... different color.... diffrent decals......But all 3 are the same detector plain and simple that's it.................

He might be talking about the Spectra V3... If thats the case it a whole new breed of machine. 3 frequency, Power Boost, and a lot more than that.

Are you saying there are 3 frequencies or the frequency is 3?

with the V3, it has 3 frequencies, 2.5 Khz, 7.5 Khz, & 22.5 Khz

I too bought a DFX 300 and have rarely used the 12" coil. I bought a 950 coil and use it all the time. The larger coil would be great in an open field with very little trash. I would have much rather seen the 300 come with a 6 X 10 coil instead of the 12" one. My two cents for what it is worth would be to buy a standard DFX or the V3. Unless you get a great deal on the 300. It is still a great machine just a different coil.

The 300's 12" coil is because everyone thinks they gotta have more depth for the older coins, when they really need the smaller Eclipse Shooter "DD" (4x6) Search Coil which would be more of a use in the older areas that will mask the targets because of trash. (is that a complete sentence?) :tongue3:

to confirm what has been said already, the only difference is the 12" coil on the 300...... but price wise, the mark up is way more for the dealers.... thats the sole reason it is out there.... it is an upgrade sale
