What is this blob of ceramic design?

I am thinking finial? Looks homemade and maybe it's just a design?? Shelf art. Anybody see anything like this before?

It looks Peruvian in style to me when I first saw it. Might be a tourist piece. Check out this link in regards to the style.

Almost looks like a lid to a larger piece like a jug.

Thank you! Way to heavy to be a bead but the style is similar. Never thought about the lid aspect either. Maybe it was made in some art class. I think it's going in the donate pile....probably back to the store I bought it from. Lol
