I forgot I had it. And where I put it. But now that it's found again, I'm thinking a French token? It was from the Delaware beach from a shipwreck. Probably Louis XIV, late 17th, early 18th century.

LOUIS LEGRAND ___ DEFRANC on the obverse with one ugly dude.

Reverse is SOLIS OPUS and underneath FRIE. . . . can't make the rest out.

Its possible I posted this before, but...what day is it?

Thanks. I saw some similar ones on the net, especially Ebay. The ones with this bust are late 17th century. Wow! Another 17th century coin! I do get my stuff out an play with it on occasion, but apparently need to do it more often.

I was looking into some coins from a very old site, and found a Roman coin in the batch of tiny little brass thingamabobs late last night. Going digging now, but will post later or tomorrow. Roman coin found in Maryland! It's dog food, but, who cares? Now there is a chance I just messed up and put the little disc in from somewhere else, but I don't collect ancient coins, so it's unlikely. Sometimes they come out of coinstars.
