What is this?? Found at colonial cellar hole.

Any help identifying this relic would be appreciated. I found it detecting a colonial period cellar hole here in Pennsylvania. It is 2 and 1\4" in length. It is made of lead and definitely hand made and crude. I thought it might be a very early plumb bob. I dont think it is beings there are groves onboth sides. Any ideas would be appreciated.
