What is this? Gold?

I have been hunting at Myrtle Beach this week and been very unsuccessful

I did, however, find this piece that gave a strong tone on my DFX. It just looks like a rock to me, but when I pick at it I see the flicker of gold. Not sure what it is. I am figuring fools gold, but I have never tested fools gold on a detector to see if it registers. Let me know what you think.

I hope it's gold too, but the only good way to find out is to test it. Many rocks have minerals in them that will register on a detector.

A jeweler may also be able to test it also.
