I have no info other than its lead, letters LM or similiar symbols,

Welcome to TNet. It could be one of three metals judging by the appearance of the scraped edge. Lead, Pewter, or Zinc. Other than a chemical analysis, determining it's purpose would likely be a clue. Can you post a pic of it's backside as well as some info on where it was found?
