✅ SOLVED What is this piping?

I uncovered this today. It is about 6 inches deep, and too embedded in the earth to pull out. Gas line? Sprinkler?
It is also only about a foot from a telephone pole, and titled at an angle, which makes me think it is loose and not connected.

It's a grounding rod for structures.

Yup, usually like 6-8' long and solid copper. fittings are brass. it was connected via copper ground cable to the pole at some point.

Not solid copper. They are copper plated steel. Try a magnet.

If there is no ground lead attached to it or any structure near it, there was at one time. Swing a big radius around the ground rod
