What is this rock/ore?

Metal detector got a hit on this rock/ore from Northern Nevada.

It has dozens of visible dark golden brown crystals in it.

I don't know what it is.

The area is known for gold and cinnabar (mercury).

Thoughts?

Looks like magnetite or something similar. Other minerals like pyrite are also present. IMO.
 

The shape of the crystals will tell the story!

If you enlarge the picture the crystals are right there.
 

I enlarged and to my eye they look cubic. Iron Pyrite (FeS2...iron/sulfur ) and Galena (Pb..lead) have cubic crystals. Galena...lead will make a detector sound off. Pyrite will not....if my field work with a detector is correct on pyrite.
