What is this rock?!?!

A friend of mine found this rock in there local farm field in upstate NY. They have had this rock for a long time but we can't figure out what type of rock this is. Please shine some light on what this could possibly be! It's about 5lbs, and about the size of a large grape frute. It also has a few cracks around it. Thanks for the help

Just kidding it does look strange. I have picked up rocks and brought home all my life they will lay around for a while and the wife throws them out in the drive way. On the good side we save a lot on gravel.

That's what we are thinking. But all of the pics that iv seen online of meteorites are dark/black or rust color. This is more of a tan.
