Found this today near where I found my Saxon item. Any clues any one ?

I believe what you have is a musket sling hook.

I think yours is a hook/strap hook mount.And would be old for here at least (16th century).I have found one here hooked but can't decide if it was for a sword,clothes hook fastener,or something like you have. But yours is a purdy good match for a hook mount in my book.
