Is this something a chain attached to Or maybe a foot peg? Found near old site in park woods. Some of the targets are to deep so I been getting a few items here and there

IMO it resembles a part of a 2-pc link from a harness rig. Yours looks quite heavy duty compared to ones I’ve found. Possibly from a harness for a team of oxen.
Of course it may be something else entirely. I’ll try to find mine and supply a photo. 👍🏼
