what is this that i found?

I was in Orlando several weeks ago and was looking among some small rocks and found this:





can anyone tell me what it is. I am thinking iron or silver. I was using my metal detector and found it.

Welcome to treasurenet floridagal! Yes, first and foremost try a magnet to it. How big is it? Is it soft/will a screwdriver or something similar scratch it? Is it heavy for it's size? It's obviously a melted blob of something. Whether aluminum, lead , silver or something else, these questions answered will help narrow it down.

Looks like possibly someone tossed an aluminum soda can in a bonfire. They melt down into nuggets that look a lot like that.

I put a magnet to it and it did not magnetize
