What is this??

I found this in a creek bottom in the Missouri bluffs across from where I live. I thought it was different so I saved it. It looks like the pattern on the top and bottom is agetized but I'm not sure on that. What do you all think? Joseph

That appears to be a well worn septarian nodule.
