looks like a tractor drop pin , for towing a farm trailer .. ill find a picture.

here is picture.. not saying that it is this ,, just what it looks like to me,:)

of course could have been for a much older wagon then a current farm one..may be alot older, will need the experts on that to come along ..: Paging cannonballguy :

Is there a hole in the end for a cotter pin?

Without more pictures its hard to tell, but I don't think it's a drop pin.
It looks semi flat, Has 2 screw holes (2nd one in the middle is hard to see) and a ring on the end that was welded by an amateur.

Ism , after looking at the picture again i still do not see a second hole , it looks like rust build up to me . but my eyes are not what they used to be,,lol
i grew up in central florida in farm country so worked in watermelon fields , squash, tomatoes , cucumbers cantaloupes hay/straw . you name it the local farmers grew it . i have seen alot of these and yes welded rings back on , most pins would get a slight bend due to the trailer jerking around and the pins are never the same size as the hole .

now again i will say i can not 100% say that it is a pull pin or what era its from , but with the shape and 1 hole i could see and the welded handle it is what i think it is.
and please dont think i am being a smart arse , i just wanted to explain my reason for why i think it is a pull pin. and if i see a better ID i will gladly change my opinion :)
