What is your dream coin?

My dream find is a gold coin of any kind, but the ultimate would be one of the rare private mint gold coins that sprang up after the gold rush. I am heading to somewhere next month that I believe will be my best shot so far at getting a US minted original gold coin. Wish me luck!

Have to go with jeff on this one! 1943 copper, not steel! A small mason jar full would be even better! In great shape they are worth about $100,000 each!

mine would have to be one of those very rare 1,873 pound golden double eagles they minted during the civil war in charlotte n.c........well this is a dream coin, right ?

any U.S. mint gold coin form me

I will take a 1913 V nickel!!! ;D

I'll take an 1870-S mint Seated Dollar in ms60 or better condition please ;D

I'd take a J.H. Bowie 1849 $5 gold(pg.281 redbook) Or a 1776 Continental Dollar in silver the 'eg fecit" variety(pg.33 R.B.) Both would be MILLION DOLLAR finds

1933 Double Eagle...I thought one sold for several million recently. All were destroyed except for one due to no more US gold coins minted after 1932...10 were supposedly "taken" from the mint, but were all recovered except for one. Since they were never "legal tender and officialy released" they were illegal to own. I think they recovered all but but one, making it a unique coin. I do not know what happened to the other nine coins that were recovered, so I am not sure if the term "unique" should apply. Were the other nine destroyed? If I am incorrect in my statements, please correct me. This is all from Memory! :-)
