That's a modern made replica of an arrowhead. They are commonly purchased at museum gift shops, flea markets, etc. They dont show any true knapping and are often not even flint. Generally they are made from a pointy "arrowhead shaped" rock with notches cut into them.

Hippy

How do I know if it is flint. It does have knapp ping but dull

Hey Fano. Where did you get it? Flint will be kinda ceramic sounding when clinked.

I can't tell enough by the pictures to say much about this point. I can't tell that it is a repro. and be 100% sure . I don't think it is. The reason I think it's authentic is because of the secondary flaking along its edges. Most gift shop points have large reduction flakes and few of them. Now, this may be a piece made by a modern knapper, but not a gift shop. Living where I do, I see the lithic that this point is made of. Erosion eats it alive. This may be a "waster" or nearly wasted any how. Better pics of the piece, especially the fine secondary flaking along the edges will give you a much more accurate answer. I pretty much have it narrowed down to a modern novice flint worker, or a near waster. Those are my thoughts on this one. The notches are important as well. Almost forgot those. If they are slick or ground in, I'd say fake then. Lets see better pics, and see where you wind up!

Sorry NC, but that is definitely a repro and not even a very good one. Very common at museum gift shops for fifty cents to a dollar each.

Good thing I don't buy em! I just got robbed. Thanks reap. I did know it wasn't banner material. Lol

Definitely a repro. Have it wrapped and wear it as a necklace or give it to some kid. It's not an ancient artifact.

Wow..yeah just saw this.
They sell bins of those at the gift shops here.

Yes. The new pics make it obvious. Sorry, the other cats are right.
