Well, a buddy and I where out on a permission hunt. The home is circa 1800s and I had obtain permission from the Director to detect. Arrived around 0900 hour and at 1130 hour neighbor comes storming over. The exchange goes like this.
Neighbor: Excuse me, EXCUSE ME.
(I had on headphones)
Me: Oh, Yes?
Neighbor: Do you have permission to be on this property? (with serious attitude)
Me: Hello, my name is blah blah blah, and I have permission from the Director to be here today. I spoke with the Director yesterday.
Neighbor: You have permission to dig holes in the ground? (more attitude)
Me: Yes, Ma'am
Neighbor: So, do you have permission to be here.
Me: Like I said, I have permission to be here today from the Director.
Neighbor: So, where are you from?
Me: I'm sorry Ma'am, and your name is? (politely but getting pissed)
Neighbor: That is none of your concern!
Me: Well, like I said, I have permission to be here today.
Neighbor: Well, we will see about that (and storms off)
After the exchange, I emailed the Director and the Director just like, good for you.
I told my buddy, that now we can't leave for another 45 minutes, just to prove a point. We waited for the PD and everything, but no show.
As a matter of fact the PD drove past on several occasions and never stopped.
I didn't mine the questioning of permission. As a matter of fact, I welcome and encourage it. But I did not like the attitude that came with it.
Half of me wanted to tell the lady to buzz off.
