Chris and I went to the beach today to do some detecting cuz a pretty good storm came through last night. He ended up with $3.94 in clad and a little silver toe ring. My day was cut short with only $1.21 in clad because I was not careful.........while I was digging up a quarter I set my "little yella fella" (ACE 250) down on the sand next to me, I wasn't paying attention and a wave snuck up on me and got it all wet!

Saltwater got in to the battery compartment and into the display area. I took it all apart and let it dry, there's still condensation inside the display screen. It powers up sporadicly but still works (I hope!) Wish me LUCK!

Thanks for all the help guys, The little yellow fella seems to be back to it's old form this morning, did a test run with it & he appears to be back to good health!

Rinse with fresh water or tap water and allow to dry. Salt will
do a number on the circuits. Call maker for further instructions
on how to detox but do it quickly. The longer you wait the more

Sieg is right; rinse the salt out of the compartment as thoroughly as you can, then leave it open to dry out. About half the time it works. Some electronic components, however, fade quickly with water contact, especially salt. Good luck!! -Noodle
