I stink at this. I thought I’d find the post I made about returning a cell phone a few weeks ago, so as not to start a whole new thread, but I can’t find it. So the lady was thrilled to get her phone back. Activities she’d organized for non profit 9-11 activities depended on it. I agreed to accept a 9-11 benefit walk shirt but that’s all, and she snuck a $50 gift certificate in there.
Today I saw through the remote camera the beach was heavily sanded in but it was such a nice day I put in two miles, and in the ankle deep water found a woman’s wallet. I texted my wife at work and she located her from her drivers license info on Facebook. Left a message that her wallet was found. Karma rewarded me with a ring a few steps later. And gas money to get home. In the money compartment was ONE NICKEL. I think that’s what saved its life in the water. Nickel/ gold ring. 25 number. I dug it. I hope giving stuff back makes people look more kindly on our hobby, and makes up a little for people who don’t fill holes and drop trash finds back on the sand. Oh yea. And my third toe tag in that beach. 🤢
