This post is for all you veteran ocean searchers that use the long handle scoops underwater. I have been having issues with wearing water shoes because of the sand build-up. Flip flops come off too often & sandals only need a few grains of sand to give my feet blisters! I've tried going bare foot, but this is too difficult to press the sand scoop into the target area.

What do you recommend? I've thought about just placing padding on the scoop so I can go bare foot and press on the cushioned scoop.

Thank you & Happy trails!

I use scuba boot they have a nice rubber sole and they come up around 6" above me ankle

I wear black OP Surfwalkers. They're very light weight, close snugly with a Velcro flap to keep the sand out and have a nice firm rubber sole to push your scoop with. They're $10 at Walmart.

I wear the scuba booties that stretch on. I think they are called titanium for some reason. They are flexable and have a sole. Yoy can get them in various thicknesses. I just slip them on and hunt for 8 hours with a 1 hour lunch break. I tried various other shoes and sandals, but the abrasion from the sand was to much. just my choice, Frank...-
