What should I go get today?

Thinking of going to pick up some coins. I've only got like $225 to work with. Had been doing nickels because thats all my budget allows right now. But was just thinking of getting pennies. Hoping for the rare IH or something.

been having any luck with the nickels lately? I got skunked on my last box of nics but I got 1 silver in the box before that and 3 silver in the box before that. I also got 1 silver in $20 worth of string rolls just before the 3 boxes. So that's 5 silver in my last $320 of nics searched and I got another box today that hopefully has more silver and maybe some buffs.

With $225 you could get 2 nic and 1 cent box or maybe just one box of each and keep $100 cash available just in case some bank has some half dollars you could buy. I don't know if you have had much luck with customer halves but it might be a good idea to keep at least some cash available at all times just in case some bank has some halves you could buy. I get nearly all of my silver from customer halves myself. Just a thought.

I've done about 3 boxes of nickels. One a week or so I think. I don't get more than one box at a time. I'm picking up from a bank I don't have an account at so figure keep it easy so I don't raise any flags. Only using BOA because I got a tip from a friend that they always have boxes on hand.

I've done pretty well with nickels though. At least 2 or 3 War nickels per box. I've gotta go thru what I've been pulling to see if it's worth keeping. I had been keeping anything pre 60s just cause it was old, habit I guess, not sure why as I'm not trying to complete any collections just want the good stuff. But leaning towards not doing that anymore unless it is a war nickel. And yep I know which ones are war nickels 42-45 with certain mint marks.
Only 1 silver dime thru 2 boxes of dimes.

I usually get mine in the commercial drive thru lane because of convenience plus that is the teller who most likely might have some half dollars too. And I've been noticing lately that quite often - like just today for example - people in cars in front of me get coin boxes also. I don't know if these are crher's or just customers who use the coins for their business or something.

Yeah, the lane that is right next to the teller window is usually called the commercial drive thru and that tray or whatever it is called that opens up/out is big enough to put at least one box in at a time - and it is real convenient too. I used to always go inside to get my coins but now I almost always just use the commercial drive thru - unless they don't have one. Fortunately all but a couple of banks I go to have them.

But you can't use the commercial drive thru for half boxes though because those boxes are just too big. That's really the only time I ever have to go inside for coin boxes anymore.
