Enamel7 is right, It's a dryer coin. A dryer coin is one thats been stuck in a commercial dryer (laundrymat or such) for a long time. Gets rolled around for months or even years, beating down the edges of the coin so much that they start folding or curling up.

Or, the start of a coin ring. Looks just like one. Be a tiny ring though.
 

When I saw dryer coin, I thought he meant it shrunk in the dryer.............:dontknow:
