sorry still slightly encrusted. i dont want to scratch it. i am thinking about doing the peroxide method? any info would help me alot!
 

Warm peroxide bath , once its bathed if it looks solid you can try some baking soda toothpaste on your fingers and gently rub the coin then rinse. Good luck with it lets us know what it says !

If you do electrolysis it'll make it look a lot worse, I would soak it in olive oil, very cool old coin though :thumbsup:
 

I'ld try Giants method, He knows his stuff. An olive oil treatment won't hurt anything.
