Been finding lots of junk in the yard lately, but this takes the cake. Weighs maybe 4-5lbs, approx. 7" wide. Anyone know what it's from? It's not really of value to me, I'm just curious why such strange things are in my yard. lol

Some sort of cog/gear but have no idea what that fat boy was for.

two or three pics from different angles are always helpful, and even though you listed an approximate size, something in the shot of known size such as a coin or soda can is helpful as a size reference too. Welcome to the forum!

Looks to me like some kind of head off a small compressor

Maybe part of an old fire hydrant?

The two ports on top makes it look like the head from an old pump.

I understand your frustration. I live in a very rural area, before purchasing the home I live in now, I had rented a home prior to this house. I love to garden, so as my husband would prepare a section for me to garden in the yard, we discovered all kinds of stuff the previous person, or the owner, had buried. I thought I would lose my mind when we dug down and found all kinds of scrap metal including a complete washing machine!! They purposely buried these types of things to save them a trip to the dump. It was very disheartening.

Growing up on a farm, I remember we had our on place to dump trash/scrap and what would not burn. There were no county dumps!!

Looks like one of the heads off of a Flux Capacitor. The we're installed on earlier model Deloreans. Later models were fitted with the Mr. Fusion trash fuel motor.
