what to ask

i have been to 7 banks in the last 2 days and all have said they have no halfs was wondering if yall ask for customer rolls or just ask if they have any halfs thanks for your help in advance

I say... "I was wondering if you had any half dollars of non gold dollar coins I could buy".

That's about all it takes...

I just ask for half dollars. If they say that they don't, I will usually ask if they have any rolls in the vault, or if they can check with the other tellers.

It is quite possible that they do not have any half dollars. A lot of the banks I go to have people stopping in every day asking for them.

When I am out going from bank to bank I go in and ask them if they can help me out I am putting a coin collection together for the grandkids. I am looking for half dollars. If they have any I tell them I will take all that they can spare. But when it is getting close for the banks to close for the night if they don't have halfs I then ask for a box or two of dimes. At least that way I get something to sort thur for the night.......Matt

Can I buy all the silver you have in the vault please. I am a coin collector and am looking for half dollars for my collection. Is there any available please? Is there any in the vault please? Your dress is lovely thank you for your time. I dumped 3000 today and when I am at the counter a gentleman came up asking for Halves. You should have seen the look on the tellers faces, priceless. So I flipped him one, he had a IKE and a Buffalo in his hand. Just a little late I would have sold him as many as he wanted.

i ask for half dollars and large silver dollar coins...thats worked for me very well...and take all you can get...keep it up and hh!

Figure out who the head teller is and let them know that you will buy every half and large dollar they can find. And once in awhile bring in a treat.

I have a convience store and a grocery store handy to me.Every time I go in,I ask for penny roll's or halves.If they ask why,I just say I'm recovering from my knee surgery,and as a collector,it passes my time.Now the clerks save any odd coins for me,knowing I'll take them.
