Ive been keeping all the scrap pieces of iron and other scrap pieces of "trash" this year and my 5 gallon bucket is almost full. I was going to save it till the end of the 2012 season and scrap it and see how much i could get for it. But then i was thinking of a more creative porpose for all the "trash". Some of the ideas i had was making a wind chime, piecing them together to make an animal or insect as garden art. Does anyone have any pictures of what they have done, or any more ideas?
Thanks,
Ryan

Thanks! Were they just pieces that you sprayed with gold paint?

Sorry I don't have any pictures to post but I have forged some of the iron I have found. I have made hooks to hang things on out of old RR spikes, flint strikers out of high carbon steel like old files. I have even made more blacksmith tools like bickerns and hardies out some of the stuff I have found.

you can scrap your find and give to charity.

Flyinryan2, The top one was sprayed with a paint called 24K gold. It was orginally steel. The bottom one was found on the beach it was black and polished to a shiney silver color. It is a light weight metal that is basicly unknown. I took it to a metal shop and a jewler, neither could identify it. Maybe a UFO part. lol
The old RR spikes make great knives if you are good at the blacksmith art, or you can just mount them.
