Possible Indian pottery?

A lot of that old pottery is difficult to age without a makers mark on the bottom of the item. As to it being of Indian manufacture, it is not.

Looks like transfer printed earthenware from late 19th century up until 1920s. A makers mark would help, or base it on other artifacts from same general area and level.

Villagenut nailed it. The earthenware is in some cases called redware, and it is transfer printed. No earlier than Civil War period.
