Every other day I'm here with some little scrap looking for answers. It's part curiosity and part hope. I'm searching for the elusive eagle buckle, breast plate, box plate, etc.; hoping that some little piece of something is part of something bigger and better that I'll find in the next hole. Today I found this clip, it's about 2 inches long, the vdi is 55, it's got 3 little welds that seem to have held something to the clip, any ideas?

I think you might find it a sword hanger...

I'm not sure - it just looks so familiar.

Those are musket sling hooks. Nice find. They come in several sizes.
